Step off the beaten path of math, and take on the recreational trail: Puzzles designed for the joy of solving them, theories and theorems that fell off the school bus, and other pastimes of numerical, geometric, and logical frivolity, as well as mind-blowing results coming from unexpected places. In short, we’re not doing this because math is useful or whatever- we’re doing this because it’s fun.
Every first and third thursday of the month, we have a selection of problems, theories, or challenges picked to stimulate a curious mind. We very much don’t focus on problems you’d see in school, but the accessory skills you pick up here probably won’t hurt there if that’s what you’re worried about.
A free online program for ages 12-19. Each week is (usually) independent of the last, so drop-ins are welcome (although we do require reservations so we don’t run out of space.)
